ADVO, Windsor, CT, said that it extended its newspaper insert alliance with MediaNews Group Inc. in the Los Angeles area this month.
The new agreement is for joint distribution of advertising inserts to consumers in the Los Angeles market on Thursdays and Fridays. MediaNews' Los Angeles Newspaper Group will merge its promotional inserts with ADVO's ShopWise advertising package for eight newspapers' subscribers. Non-subscribers will receive packages in their mailboxes.
In August 2003, the two firms began their first L.A. alliance with a midweek program. The Los Angeles Newspaper Group consists of The Los Angeles Daily News, Long Beach Press Telegram, San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Pasadena Star-News, Whittier Daily News, San Bernardino Sun, Redlands Daily Facts and Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.
