ad:tech lines out the door

Is it me or is ad:tech way bigger this year? This is my third year in attendance and it always seems crowded and full of bottle necks over at the Hilton with its multiple floors and areas. Sometimes I don’t even realize that there is another level and miss a whole round of booths.

Still, I figured that when it got to Javitz it might feel a little thin. Wrong! The place was bezerk all morning, with lines wrapped the length of the Javitz Center times two as it looped back in the other direction. And despite some kind of hotel conference going on upstairs the entire length of the downstairs seemed to be dedicated to orange badge holders.

And it seems like every special room at Javitz was being used by some company or other for private client meetings and so forth. It took me 20 minutes just to find the press room, which is tucked away in the most southern hall, where the smaller sessions are going on.

Glad to see the event so packed, I hope this means that confidence is back up, or perhaps that the demand for online advertising is more important. Probably, it’s a little of both.
