Acxiom Unveils New Data Products

Acxiom Corp., Conway, AR, this week introduced two products — InfoBase Business List 3.0 and the Software Developers Kit for the Acxiom Data Network — designed to help business-to-business marketers in specific industries better use its compiled data sources.

InfoBase 3.0, unveiled at the Business-to-Business Database Marketing Conference in Orlando, FL, is an update of the version released in 1997 with applications for the hi-tech, telecommunications and utilities industries. The list provides increased coverage of the small business sector and more than 12 million total businesses through a multisourced approach. Duplicates have been reduced by running all records through a list of disconnected phone numbers updated monthly. InfoBase 3.0 has been appended with three new industry specific features:

* The Wharton Econometric Forecasting Associates usage model predicts a company's electric and gas power consumption and its local, long-distance, toll-free and cellular telephone expenditures.

* Place-of-business listings contain data on the age of the building, physical characteristics and whether space is owned or rented, which can be used to assess utility needs.

* A compiled response index tracks a company's purchase behavior data with grades for recency and frequency. The data is summarized at the business, not transaction level, and adds a level of responsiveness to the compiled InfoBase list.

The Software Developers Kit, introduced at the Marketing Automation Conference in San Jose, CA, is targeted to InfoBase users and prospects, and software developers/resellers as a connection to the Acxiom Data Network released to the market in August. The kit gives marketers real-time online access to Acxiom data with the same desktop software they use on a daily basis.

“For even the smallest marketers, with the Acxiom Data Network they have access to the same data Fortune 500 companies have access to today,” said Mike Wallif, product leader for the network's business and consumer products.

Acxiom/DataQuick, San Diego, has released the Freddie Mac Home Value EstimatorSM, a national automated valuation model that lets mortgage lenders quickly determine property values of single-family residences and condominiums in all 50 states. Home Value Estimator can perform real-time property analysis to identify qualified homeowners within a lender's portfolio which assists in the marketing of equity and other product offerings.
