Torrent Systems Inc., Cambridge, MA, a data warehousing vendor, is expected to announce today that Acxiom Corp., a customer data integration system vendor, plans to use Torrent’s flagship product Orchestrate as a technology component of Acxiom’s Customer Data Integration delivery infrastructure.
Orchestrate enables companies to create, deploy and manage scalable solutions for analyzing massive volumes of clickstream and transaction data. It also allows companies to process more data in less time by partitioning data across multiple processors and then streaming the data through multiple, parallel instances of each application step.
Following integration, the infrastructure will enable Acxiom to improve its CDI process, improving Acxiom’s delivery performance and speeding it up considerably.
As a first step in the development of the CDI engine, Acxiom has begun implementing Orchestrate-based applications for building database marketing systems. As part of the implementation, Acxiom is developing a JAVA-based application interface for Orchestrate that will allow Acxiom associates to easily develop and configure the processes that Acxiom, Little Rock, AR, uses to deliver AbiliTec and its database services.
AbiliTec allows companies to link contact information captured from multiple touch points with legacy customer data stores or link to customer data stored in Acxiom’s InfoBase, a large collection of consumer, business and telephone data available in one source. As a result, companies are able to construct complete, enterprisewide views of their customers.
