Acxiom Generates Double-Digit Increases

Acxiom Corp., Little Rock, AR, announced yesterday double-digit increases in revenue for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2005 and the full year ended March 31.

Fourth-quarter revenue reached $322.5 million, up 16 percent from $277.8 million in 2004's fourth quarter. Revenue for fiscal 2005 totaled $1.22 billion, up 21 percent from $1.01 billion in fiscal 2004.

Acxiom's U.S. Services & Data unit reported revenue of $190.4 million for the quarter, up from $181.4 million in the prior year, and $735.3 million for 2005 versus $688.6 million in 2004. Its International Services & Data unit revenue was $52.7 million for the quarter compared with $39.9 million in 2004, and $212.5 million for 2005, up from $84 million in 2004.

“Our U.S. business remained solid in the fourth quarter and through the fiscal year, despite some reductions in credit card mailing volumes,” company leader Charles D. Morgan said in a statement. “U.S. revenue grew 9 percent for the fiscal year. While our international operation didn't meet the expectations that we set for their business, we were able to integrate two large, historically unprofitable data businesses across seven countries in Europe with our UK-based services business and generate a profit for the fiscal year. We also believe that the recent acquisitions of SmartDM and Digital Impact will enhance and expand Acxiom's value proposition — inside and outside the U.S.”

Acxiom completed its acquisition of online marketing services provider Digital Impact Inc. on May 5 and acquired SmartDM in January.
