Active Modules releases CRM for online and small businesses

Active Modules has released Active Purchase, a Web site module designed for online communities and small businesses.

The customizable product assists these companies with online sales. It provides CRM applications for the checkout process, as well as reporting tools and product performance tracking. Other functions include order history, discounts, coupons, invoices and customer support.

These functions enable commercial Web sites to manage PayPal and credit card transactions via a simplified interface. The system also helps to manage customer data, which can be used for future marketing or customer relations efforts.

Early proponents of the new system include Jeff Smith, founder and CEO of business service provider Venexus.

The program runs on DotNetNuke. DNN is a Web application that provides a framework to commercial Web sites.

Active Modules’ products are built around the DNN or Microsoft.NET platforms. The Charleston, SC-based company specializes in Web applications for CRM, Web site development and e-commerce. It could not be reached for comment as of press time.
