ACS Buys LiveBridge for $32 Million

Affiliated Computer Services purchased LiveBridge Inc., a call center agency serving the financial and telecommunications industries, for $32 million this week.

LiveBridge, Portland, OR, has about 3,000 employees and had revenue of $89.6 million last year, up 19 percent from the previous year. In addition to the $32 million cash payment, LiveBridge's owners will receive unspecified future payments based on the company's performance, according to ACS, Dallas.

ACS, a business process outsourcer, said the acquisition would expand its customer care services. It will take ownership of LiveBridge's operations centers in Canada, India and Argentina and plans to expand in those countries, and also will gain the chance to cross-sell with LiveBridge's customers, including several Fortune 500 clients, ACS said.

ACS said it would expand customer care capabilities at LiveBridge's Portland operation and add processing capabilities in Canada, Argentina and India.

ACS is a publicly traded company with about 50,000 employees in more than 100 countries.
