AccuWeather Launches Live Internet Radio Show

AccuWeather.com has begun running a live one-hour weekly Internet radio show that features discussions of weather issues.

Called “Shoot the Breeze,” the show runs Thursdays at 7 p.m. at www.accuweather.com and http://broadcast.yahoo.com. It features AccuWeather meteorologists, who discuss questions sent by phone or e-mail pertaining to a weather topic selected for that week.

Aside from the streaming audio, viewers can see graphics that further explain the topic. According to AccuWeather, the show was put together technologically to let viewers with 28.8k modems and up receive a quality connection.

The Chicago-based firm plans to track listeners' interests to offer targeted advertising opportunities.

“Radio broadcasts will be the next step in the evolution of a complete interactive experience that will rival traditional broadcast media and have the added advantage of immediate availability,” said Joel N. Myers, president of AccuWeather.
