ABC Annual Meeting Set for Toronto

The Audit Bureau of Circulations will hold its 90th conference and annual meeting Nov. 10-12 at The Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.

This year's theme is “Making the Most of Your Competitive Edge,” focusing on what advertising buyers need from print media and how publishers are responding.

Keynote speakers will include Jack Kliger, president/CEO of Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. Inc., and Jay Smith, president of Cox Newspapers Inc. Both will comment on issues affecting print media and how periodicals and newspapers are responding to the needs of advertising buyers.

The opening general session Nov. 11 will feature panelists David Verklin, CEO of Carat North America; Renetta McCann, CEO of Starcom North America; and Sunni Boot, president of Zenith Optimedia Canada. They will share their opinions on the print marketplace and the actions publishers can take to meet the needs of print buyers.

At the annual luncheon, Business Week senior editor Mary Kuntz will discuss the evolution from the mass market to the micro-market. Also scheduled are concurrent sessions on the skills circulators need to prosper. More media-specific sessions will be offered this year as part of a new program format.
