40Under40 2017: Christopher Lorn, Philip Morris International

Christopher Lorn, Head of Digital Strategy, Philip Morris International

Christopher Lorn not only is a marketer, but is passionate about making the environment a better place to work. He has previously held leadership and strategist roles at Big Spaceship, Anomaly and HUGE. He is the co-founder of the US chapter of Table for Two: a non-profit looking to balance the parts of the world suffering from both under-nutrition and obesity.

What has been your proudest career accomplishment to date?

Getting to a point where I consciously chose what I cared about and being able to discern glibness from intellect and over-ambition from passion. This happened three weeks ago.

What’s the best piece of advice you can give to future 40 under 40 honorees?

Chase purpose, not success. Success undoubtedly always follows when someone is fully working in line with their values and delivers against a standard they believe to be the output of their best effort.

What do you hope to accomplish in the next 5 years?

Finding myself as a leader and my personal style as a leader. “Paying forward” the opportunities that others gave me. Fighting for fairness and justice over nepotism. Continually speaking up for myself and others who don’t necessarily have a voice.

What is one interesting fact about you that few people know?

I have severe impostor syndrome, but it’s counterbalanced by my epic talent of memorizing the entire pulmonary circulation pathway.
