Adam Davis, VP Corporate Communications, IMAX Corporation
Adam helps orchestrate IMAX’s global communications strategy to support more than 1,200 theatres across 75 countries. He also manages the company’s consumer, international and film publicity campaigns. Previously, Davis was director of corporate communications for KIT digital and senior account executive at Kreab Gavin Anderson.
What has been your proudest career accomplishment to date?
Spearheading the marketing and communications strategies to support the launch of IMAX’s next-generation laser technology, which marked the largest R&D investment in the Company’s history. The new technology debuted to rave reviews during the world premiere of Furious 7 in Los Angeles and has since been installed in IMAX’s most iconic locations around the world.
What’s the best piece of advice you can give to future 40 under 40 honorees?
Always be willing to jump on a project that takes you outside of your comfort zone and area of expertise. Sharpening your core skills is valuable, but broadening your range of capabilities can open up new opportunities you never thought possible.
What do you hope to accomplish in the next 5 years?
Help successfully transition IMAX from being a cinema technology brand to becoming a lifestyle brand that brings your favorite entertainment experiences to life.
What is one interesting fact about you that few people know?
I lived and worked abroad for two years in Prague.
