40 Under 40 2016: Lauren Metsig, Maestro Health

Lauren Metsig, CMO, Maestro Health, 29

As CMO, Lauren Metsig leads Maestro Health’s strategy and execution of branding, lead generation, PR, and sales support. Building the brand and team from the ground up, her passion to make health and benefits people-friendly is the driving force behind her strategy.

Metsig’s pre-Maestro background covered various marketing leadership roles at places
such as Yokohama Tire and Pure Health Solutions.

What has been your proudest career accomplishment to date?

The first is March 31, 2015 — the day we launched the Maestro Health brand. The second was promoting two of my team members to new positions within a year of hiring them.

What’s the best piece of advice you can give to future 40 Under 40 honorees?

Don’t think so highly of yourself that you believe your success is because of your own doing. When you’re the youngest around the table, be thankful for the people sitting next to you. At the same time, don’t underestimate the power of your thoughts and opinions due to your age.

What do you hope to accomplish in the next five years?

I hope to develop Maestro to be bigger and better and play an integral role in growing it as a whole. More importantly, I want to see the people who’ve worked on my team flourish in their own careers.

What is one interesting fact about you that few people know?

I didn’t speak until I was about 3 years old. My parents were concerned so they had me tested to see if something was wrong. Doctors explained I had full brain function, could understand when people talked to me and would begin talking when I wanted to — meaning I was just a very strong-willed child, and now a strong-willed adult.
