40 Under 40 2016: Andy Rossmeissl, Faraday

Andy Rossmeissl, CEO and cofounder, Faraday, 33

Andy Rossmeissl leads the Faraday team in its quest to revolutionize customer outreach for companies selling things that matter. He is a designer by training, a programmer by choice, and an adviser to a handful of Vermont startups that grudgingly tolerate him. Previously, he founded Brighter Planet, the celebrated sustainability tech company.

What has been your proudest career accomplishment to date?

Convincing Vermont’s best engineers, data experts, and revenue pros to come work at Faraday.

What’s the best piece of advice you can give to future 40 Under 40 honorees?

One of my favorite pieces of startup advice comes from one of my cofounders, Seamus Abshere: “Fail today, not tomorrow.”

What do you hope to accomplish in the next five years?

We’re going to replace how companies tackle data-driven marketing: huge licensing fees, slow consultants, dead-on-arrival lists. We want to be the AdWords of omnichannel: DIY platform, living lists, pay as you go.

What is one interesting fact about you that few people know?

I gave a pre-release copy of OutKast’s Hey Ya! an “F” grade. Months later it was the most popular song in the country.
