21st Century Marketing Inc., Farmingdale, NY, has acquired fellow list firm AZ Marketing Services Inc., Cos Cob, CT, and has merged the two companies to continue providing direct and Internet marketing services, 21st Century announced yesterday.
The terms of the acquisition were not made public.
The sale of AZ Marketing resulted from founder and president Alice Zea's decision to retire, as well as from the compatibility between the two organizations, according to a statement by David O. Schwartz, president/CEO of 21st Century.
Both Zea and Schwartz are veterans of the direct marketing industry.
Zea and AZ Marketing had been considering candidates with which to merge for the past three years prior to choosing 21st Century.
Elyssa Cunningham and Theresa Horn, former co-presidents of AZ Marketing, have been named senior vice presidents at the merged organization.
At this time, each firm will continue operating in its current office with its current name and staff.
