Direct marketer 1-800 Contacts Inc., Draper, UT, selected Saatchi & Saatchi as its first national advertising agency of record. The company said Saatchi & Saatchi, which will handle the account from its San Francisco office, will be responsible for TV and Internet advertising and will assist with direct marketing and public relations. A national consumer campaign is expected to kick off in the second half of the year.
1-800 Contacts, which sells contact lenses through direct mail and other direct-response advertising vehicles, had sales of about $60 million last year, the company said.
