Zumbox adds New York to municipal client list

Last month, DMNews reported on the cities of San Francisco and Newark, NJ, becoming the first clients of Web-based mail delivery system Zumbox in the municipal government space. Add New York to that list.

The Big Apple launched a pilot program earlier this month to send municipal paperless mail to city residents. New York City residents are now receiving letters from the mayor's office, the fire and sanitation departments, and the Office of Long Term Planning and Sustainability.

Zumbox, which launched early this year and hired direct marketing veteran Donn Rappaport as its CEO in June, is also delivering digital versions of Chicago-based publisher 22nd Century Media's local weekly newspapers.
