Zelerate and Jabber.com Form Alliance

Zelerate Inc., which specializes in order fulfillment software, announced a marketing and referral agreement with Jabber.com yesterday.

Zelerate, San Mateo, CA, produces software that allows users to customize online pricing, inventory and ordering information. Jabber.com, Denver, a subsidiary of Webb Interactive Services, provides instant messaging services.

Under the agreement, Zelerate will promote Jabber.com's instant messaging capabilities while Jabber.com will promote Zelerate's AllCommerce software suite to its customers.

"Our relationship with Zelerate will help us identify new markets where instant messaging can play a critical role in customer retention," said Andre Durand, founder of Jabber.com.

The offerings of both Zelerate and Jabber are designed to work with major operating systems such as Linux, Unix, FreeBSD and Windows NT, but clients of either company can choose not to use the other firm's technology.

Financial arrangements were not disclosed, but both companies plan to embark on the joint promotion immediately.
