Zebu Files For IPO

Zebu Inc., a direct marketer of term life insurance and a provider of technology to the insurance industry, yesterday filed to raise $64 million in an initial public stock offering. The San Francisco company sells insurance through its SelectQuote Insurance Services division and provides technology for the online marketing of insurance products through its SelectTech division. The company said it expects the offering to take place in the second quarter. Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown is the lead underwriter of the offering. Other underwriters include U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray and Cochran, Caronia & Co.
