The new feature will advise visitors on how to avoid deceptive e-mail and hoaxes such as the recent "Ericsson Free Phone Deal" and the "Last Dying Wish" hoax.

"We created ZDNet E-Hoax Central to serve as a tool for our users in combating these e-mails with a timely and authoritative resource," said Courtney Attwood, executive producer of ZDNet's Help and How-To Channel.

The site will offer news on e-mail hoaxes, commentary on memorable ones and simple solutions to prevent fraudulent messages from reaching e-mail boxes.
