Yellow Book USA Awards Printing to Quebecor

Yellow Book USA, a publisher and distributor of 71 million yellow pages directories in the United States, extended a printing contract with Quebecor World Inc., the printer said yesterday.

Quebecor will produce 210 titles per year at its facilities in Hazelton, PA; Waukee, IA; Loveland, CO; and Merced, CA. The contract extension is worth $70 million in sales, Quebecor said.

The length of the contract extension, described as "multi-year," was not disclosed.

Yellow Book USA publishes 600 directory titles annually in 40 states and the District of Columbia. The company acquired yellow pages publishers McLeodUSA and the National Directory Company in 2002.

Quebecor, which claims to be the world's largest commercial printer, employs 39,000 workers in 160 facilities worldwide.
