Yahoo Partners With 3G Wireless Broadband Telco

Yahoo signed a deal to offer its mobile services to 3 Group, a division of Hong Kong's Hutchison Whampoa that holds 3G radio network licenses in 10 telecommunications markets worldwide.

This is Yahoo's first partnership with an international 3G wireless broadband network operator.

The deal enables the offering of online services like Yahoo Search, Yahoo Mobile Web, Yahoo Messenger, Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Go for Mobile on 3 Group's networks. The services will be available on cell phones using 3 Group's wireless services.

Yahoo, Sunnyvale, CA, said the first services launch this summer in Britain, followed by Italy, Ireland, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Australia, Hong Kong and India.

The offerings will be jointly promoted on Yahoo and 3 Group telecom networks.
