Yahoo Outfits NYC Cabs for the Internet
Yahoo Inc., Team Systems Corp. and Medallion Financial Corp., which operates one of the largest fleets of taxi cabs in New York, said yesterday that they will begin offering Internet services in cabs.A fleet of 10 cabs will be equipped with Palm 7 hand-held computers. To promote the pilot program the cabs will be outfitted in yellow and purple colors.
The venture is part of the Yahoo Everywhere program. Yahoo last year outfitted taxis in San Francisco.
