Free Internet services provider Xoom.com, San Francisco, has partnered with online incentive and loyalty product provider MyPoints.com, San Francisco, to create a customer loyalty scheme for Xoom.com shoppers who buy online and through direct e-mail.


XoomPoints, which is expected to roll out in the third quarter of this year, is designed to encourage Xoom customers to become repeat buyers, as well as to attract new shoppers to the Web site.


XoomPoints will be redeemable against a variety of products and services including travel awards, prepaid telephone cards and gift certificates. In addition, the program will be used as an incentive for nonpurchase activity such as building a Web page, clicking on a banner ad or completing an online survey.
