Wunderman Buys Bridge, Gains P&G

WPP Group PLC's Wunderman bought Bridge Worldwide, a Cincinnati-based interactive marketing agency with clients like Procter & Gamble Co. and others in the consumer packaged goods and healthcare sectors.

The agency will operate as an independent subsidiary of Wunderman, a New York direct marketing agency with accounts like Ford Motor Co., AstraZeneca, Microsoft, Chevron, Pfizer, Citibank and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Financial details were not disclosed, but Bridge's experience in online marketing and healthcare is said to have convinced Wunderman to purchase the agency.

Bridge's 120-plus employees will keep their jobs. Jay Woffington remains agency president/CEO.

This acquisition strengthens Wunderman's arm as a provider of end-to-end direct and interactive marketing services. Bridge joins a portfolio of Wunderman subsidiaries like relationship marketing agency RTCRM, interactive shop VML and data services firm KnowledgeBase Marketing.
