Worldata Debuts SportsLine Databases

Worldata/WebConnect has been awarded management of the SportsLine.com Inc. files effective immediately. The files total 9 million members at postal and e-mail address.

The names come from the 10 sports-related Web sites run by SportsLine.com, which are CBS SportsLine.com, GolfWeb.com, PGATour.com, NFL.com, MVP.com, SuperBowl.com, FantasySports.com, Superstars.com, ShopSportsLine.com and MarketPlace on SportsLine.com.

"It's really a big database, and it has never been on the market before," said Jay Schwedelson, corporate vice president of Worldata/WebConnect, Boca Raton, FL. "It's direct mail and e-mail. I've never seen a database with 9 million names that has both postal and e-mail, and they completely match up."

Many people on the databases are buyers, he said, and the files also have a lot of selectivity.

"Everything is selectable, including teams," he said.

The base price on the postal names is $100/M. The e-mail names have a $200/M base price.
