Woodbury to Offer E-Commerce Degree; First in California
Woodbury University, Burbank, CA, yesterday became the first institution of higher learning in California to offer students bachelor's and master's degrees in e-commerce.Classes for the e-commerce major will begin in the fall semester. E-commerce majors will study subjects that include international business, finance, entrepreneurship, accounting, business law and economics.
Development of the new degree program is funded in part by a $310,000 grant from the Fletcher Jones Foundation, Los Angeles, which sponsors higher-education programs in California. The money is being used to hire professors and to purchase computer equipment and teaching materials.
Other schools that offer bachelor's degrees in e-commerce include Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Alva, OK; and Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, AL.
Several schools offer master's degrees in e-commerce or graduate degrees with a specialization in e-commerce. These include Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh; Clemson University, Clemson, SC; Emory University, Atlanta; Loyola University, Chicago; Northwestern University, Evanston, IL; University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia; and Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN.
