Winstar to Sell Web-Design Software Online
Digital communications firm Winstar Communications Inc., New York, yesterday said that its Web sites would offer a Web designing system powered by e-commerce software company Open Market Inc.'s ShopSite system.The agreement will allow www.winstar.com and www.office.com customers to use automated plates to build customized e-commerce sites within hours. According to Open Market, Burlington, MA, ShopSite steers customers through page set-up and design as well as implementing other e-commerce features -- such as tax and shipping calculations, online or offline payment processing options, product category, maintenance, order encryption and store traffic statistics. Cost of the service was not disclosed, as weren't the financial terms of the agreement.
