West Marine Buys Boat Owners Association Retail, Wholesale Operations
Boating supply chain company West Marine Inc., Watsonville, CA, said yesterday it will acquire the retail and wholesale operations of the Boat Owners Association of the United States for $72 million in cash and assumption of certain liabilities.West Marine has 258 store locations in the United States and Canada.
The association's retail operations will add 62 store locations as well as catalog and wholesale sales channels.
The Boat Owners Association will continue to operate as an association representing boaters nationwide.
