Wendy's to test mobile coupons in Northeast

Wendy's/Arby's Group International has selected Options Media Group for its mobile couponing efforts in the Northeast US.

Under the terms of the partnership, announced December 21, Options Media will roll out a coupon campaign for restaurants in that part of the country.

Consumers can opt in to receive coupons and offers in their specific geographic location. These coupons can be redeemed at the register by showing them on the mobile phone to the cashier, according to a statement from Options Media.

Wendy's joins other fast-food chains that are offering coupons on mobile phones, including Papa John's, Burger King and Dairy Queen.

Wendy's did not return calls seeking comment.
