Wellman Resigns As ABI President

Jon Wellman resigned July 1 as president, director and chief operating officer of American Business Information, Omaha, NE, to pursue other senior-level opportunities outside the direct marketing industry. He will keep his ties with ABI as a consultant. He joined ABI as chief financial officer in August 1995 and was promoted to executive vice president of operations and finance in June 1996 before becoming president and COO in January 1997. Before joining ABI, Wellman had held executive positions at Signal Technology Corp. and Coopers & Lybrand and also had worked for Micron Technology. Wellman was involved in at least eight ABI acquisitions, including its 1997 purchase of Database America.
