Weight Watchers Looks to Bulk Up Online Advertising
The appointment by the weight-loss program marks the first time WeightWatchers.com will accept advertising on its site. Terms of the assignment were not disclosed.
Phase2Media, which sells the ad inventory of more than 60 sites, is charged with developing integrated advertising and marketing sponsorships for Weight Watchers Online.
Advertisers can align themselves with Weight Watchers' 1-2-3 Success program, a weight-loss technique, or through banner ads and buttons, advertorials, microsites and channel sponsorships.
WeightWatchers.com, which opened in November 1999 and relaunched in July, has more than 75,000 registered users.
Separately, Phase2Media yesterday named ClickAction, Palo Alto, CA, to support its opt-in e-mail marketing business. It will use the ClickAction e-mail management technology.
