Web Services Site Aimed at Lawyers

PowerAdvocates.com launched Friday and announced its offering of city-specific domain names and Web-hosting services targeted at the legal industry.

The site offers lawyers more than 700 domain names designed for 53 U.S. markets. A large majority of the names are also practice-specific, such as Bostonpersonalinjury.com.

Interested viewers can modify and design their sites by filling out a form at www.poweradvocates.com.

PowerAdvocates, St. Louis, said its attorney sites would be listed in well-known search engines such as Yahoo, LookSmart, GoTo and Lycos. The site also offers free technical support.

The site offers prospects monthly subscription plans that cost from $295 to $495. The subscription plan is the firm's lone revenue stream.

PowerAdvocates said it would launch e-mail and direct mail campaigns in the coming months to promote the site. The site also plans to place print ads in trade magazines for the legal industry.
