Waterfront Media acquires search firm Netramind

Waterfront Media, an online health company, has acquired search engine marketing firm Netramind.

“[We are] continuing to invest in our capabilities around search engine optimization and Netramind was a great opportunity for us to do that,” said Ben Wolin, CEO and co-founder of Waterfront Media, Brooklyn, NY. Moving forward, Netramind's work will focus solely on Waterfront Media properties.

Waterfront Media owns and operates EverydayHealth.com as well as a number of other health-related Web sites including SouthBeachDiet.com, MyOptimumHealthPlan.com, WhatToExpect.com and bikinibootcamp.com.

Netramind, which has offices in Santa Clara, CA, and Mumbai, India, consists of about 30 people, who will be integrated into Waterfront Media, Wolin said. Moving forward, Netramind's co-founder Ani Kortikar will be appointed VP of search technology and will report to Dave Perlman, Waterfront Media's CTO.
