Videocassettes Gain Impact

Oracle Packaging, Toledo, OH, has patented a process that bonds graphics directly onto videocassette. The process, called Intellishell, bonds black and white or full color on all five sides of a tape that weighs less than a standard cassette.

Oracle states the Intellishell process lowers production, printing, packaging and shipping costs, making it an attractive medium for mass mailings, especially high-impact applications like children's releases. More than 1 million Intellishell cassettes are currently on the market, including 250,000 for the Ken Burns baseball documentary.
