Jodie Sangster's resume is studded with an impressive list of accomplishments. She's a lawyer who can practice in three countries; she previously served as the chief privacy and compliance officer at Acxiom Asia-Pacific; and she was the SVP of education and global development for the DMA in Washington, D.C.

She's also, most recently, a recipient of the 2013 Direct Marketing News 40 under 40 award for her impressive contributions to the industry.

DMN Editor-in-Chief Ginger Conlon talks with Sangster, currently the CEO of the Association for Data-Driven Marketing & Advertising in Australia, about the nature of leadership and the skills marketers will need to acquire soon or risk becoming obsolete.

Says Sangster: "There's a little bit of a misconception. As much as the focus in on digital, I believe it needs to be on data. It's really data that drives the insight, and that's going to drive better marketing."
