Vertis Certified for NCOALink

Vertis has been certified as a limited service provider of the U.S. Postal Service's NCOALink product, the company said last week.

NCOALink is a data set of address changes from the USPS. It lets companies update name and address mailing lists with new addresses from individuals, families and businesses that moved so mailers can qualify for First-Class automation and presort discounts.

NCOALink replaced the National Change of Address and FASTforward products in 2004 with one system that lets address information be released in a mathematical, 11-digit representation of the new address.

NCOALink can be licensed by individual businesses to correct customer address information before it enters the mail stream. Designed to protect customer privacy, licensees can obtain the new information only if they already possess the customer's name and an old address.

Using NCOALink's secure data storage technology, Baltimore-based Vertis said it now can process client address files in-house with real-time move updates.
