Vertis calls off deal to acquire printer

Printing and marketing services company Vertis Communications has called off its proposed merger with American Color Graphics.

In July, Vertis, Baltimore, said it would acquire American Color Graphics with the goal of being able to better address the advertising insert and pre-media services marketplace.

"Vertis therefore terminated the letter of intent, but is prepared to entertain further discussions," according to a statement from the company.
