Vertis appoints Calta first CMO

Vertis Communications named Kathy Calta its first CMO, effective September 1. She most recently served as a partner at interactive agency Rosetta.

The goal of creating the position, Calta said, is to help the company work more closely with its clients.

“My job will be to take what we have and translate it into relevant solutions for our clients so that they're doing a better job of communicating with their customers,” she said.

She added that Vertis found her with the help of a search firm. Calta, who previously spent 22 years at Harte-Hanks, will report to Quincy Allen, CEO.
