VerticalResponse Starts Web-Based Postcard Service

Direct marketing solutions provider VerticalResponse Inc. is to announce today a direct mail postcard service that lets customers create, launch and control traditional direct mail and direct e-mail campaigns from within iBuilder, the San Francisco company's Web-based direct e-mail product.

Users of the new service can utilize VerticalResponse's library of 650,000 high-resolution photographs or upload their own images. Various fonts and colors are available, and text can be inserted over any part of the image.

Postcards are printed on 12-point stock, with four-color artwork as another option. After a user designates a distribution list, VerticalResponse prints and mails the postcards via First-Class postage.

VerticalResponse said it is letting customers test the postcard service for free with a self-addressed postcard mailing. Pricing is based on a tiered volume structure similar to the iBuilder direct e-mail product.

The service can be used with VerticalResponse's new Database Segmentation Tool, a database management system that lets marketers match e-mail offers and other communication with the interests and needs of their target audience.
