Versant to Sell Poet BTB Business

Versant Corp., Fremont, CA, said yesterday that it has signed a definitive agreement to sell Poet GmbH, its business-to-business catalog software management business, to ems ePublishing AG, a privately held German company.


Under terms of the deal, ems will acquire all outstanding stock of Poet GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Versant, in a cash transaction. Versant acquired Poet, which employs 25 people, as part of its merger with Poet Holdings in March.
