Valentine's Day Sweepstakes Leverages Flower Power

Town24.com, New York, plans to collect visitor data and increase viewer return rates with a sweepstakes contest featuring a Valentine's Day flower bouquet giveaway, a spokeswoman said Monday.

The firm requires contest entrants to give their name, e-mail address and telephone number. Michele Grey, corporate communications director at Town24, said the firm might use the information for future e-mail marketing. Above all, she said, the sweepstakes was designed to establish loyalty with the site's 30,000 unique visitors. Ten winners will be able to send flowers to their loved ones after Feb. 1 or take a rain check for a future date.
