Valassis to manage list in house

Valassis announced January 25 that it will bring management of Valassis Lists products, including its 151 million-universe mailing list, in-house. The file is currently managed by ALC, which will do so until March 5.

NFocus Consulting will continue to handle fulfillment and technology for the list.

Valassis Lists' other products include Valassis New Movers, Valassis New Construction, Carrier Route Boundary, Targeting Demographics and Intelligent Prospect Models.

"We believe internal account management of the list and our increased involvement as the list's owners is a natural evolution for this business,” said Mark Gundersen, director of Valassis Data Solutions, in a statement. A request for comment was not immediately returned.

Valassis reported last October net income of $13.8 million for the third quarter of 2009. Fourth-quarter results will be released February 22.
