USPS Will End Pro Cycling Team Sponsorship

After serving as title sponsor of the USPS Pro Cycling Team for the past eight years, the U.S. Postal Service announced Friday that it would end its sponsorship of the 24-member team at the end of the year.

The sponsorship "has been very successful, we have received worldwide attention and our message came across loud and clear," postal spokeswoman Monica Suraci said. "But now we want the opportunity to shift our focus and discuss and explore other opportunities that may be a fit."

Team member Lance Armstrong has won five consecutive Tour de France races. The USPS Pro Cycling Team is owned and managed by Tailwind Sports.
