USPS Web Site Rates Above Other Shipping Sites

The U.S. Postal Service's Web site -- www.usps.com -- was rated among the easiest to use in a study released this week by WebCriteria Inc., Portland, OR, a customer experience analysis vendor.

Other shippers' sites that were ranked include DHL, United Parcel Service and FedEx.

WebCriteria's task analysis service tested the package delivery sites for the time and effort required to find various shipping rates. The USPS received a five-star rating, with a total task time of 1 minute, 20 seconds. By contrast, UPS required 2.5 minutes to find the same rate information.

"Product delivery problems were the No. 1 complaint about shopping online last holiday season," said Alistair Williamson, CEO of WebCriteria. "Because of last year's results, I have a feeling that customers are going to be closely tracking their packages this year via these sites. WebCriteria's data shows which sites will be the most convenient to use.''
