USPS Transformation Plan Comments Due

Mailers and direct marketers have until Thursday to comment on the Comprehensive Transformation Plan examining structural changes to the U.S. Postal Service.

The plan, which was requested by Congress and the U.S. comptroller general's office, is to serve as a long-term blueprint for the agency's future.

The deadline for comment had been Nov. 1 with a final plan to be presented to Congress by the end of 2001. After Congress extended the deadline for a final plan, however, the postal service provided more time for comment. The USPS expects to have a plan to Congress in March.

Marketers can submit comment by e-mail to transformation@email.usps.gov or by mail to Julie S. Moore, Executive Director, Office of Transformation, Strategic Planning, Room 4011, U.S. Postal Service Headquarters, 475 L'Enfant Plaza, SW, Washington, DC 20260-1520.
