USPS Readies Second Updated Mailing Guide
The USPS made the announcement at a postal luncheon here yesterday.
The book, "A Guide to Mailing for Businesses and Organizations," is the second in a series of books to replace the Domestic Mail Manual. The current manual is a complex document full of complicated directions, instructions and phrases.
The first booklet was introduced last fall, targeted to individual customers. Other books in the series will focus on beginning and small bulk mailers, and professional mailers.
The guidebook will be free at larger post offices in early summer. It also will be available at www.usps.com.
Later in the summer, the USPS plans to send a direct mail piece promoting the guide to 2 million to 3 million small-business owners and nonprofit organizations.
The USPS also said that it will hold a series of multicultural business seminars in New York next month. They will be held in conjunction with the postal service's multicultural advertising agencies -- A Partnership, Chisholm-Mingo and The Bravo Group -- which focus on the Asian, African-American and Hispanic markets, respectively.
The first seminar, targeted to African-American small-business owners, will be April 3 at the W Hotel in Times Square.
