USPS: Presort bundles must display addresses face up

The US Postal Service published revised mailing standards today in the Federal Register requiring mailers to place presort bundles on pallets with the addresses facing up. The revised standards go into effect on September 11.

“In today's processing applications, this new standard will aid in validating that bundles are placed on the correct pallet, improving the manual distribution of these bundles,” the USPS said.

This change is also needed for the automated preparation and future induction of the Flats Sequencing System (FSS), which is designed to further automate the sorting of flat mail, according to the USPS.
