USPS Changes Bulk Mail Drop-off Procedures in NY During Convention

Anticipated traffic congestion during the Republican National Convention has caused the U.S. Postal Service to modify procedures for bulk mail customers for the next week.

From today through Sept. 3, bulk mail customers need to drop off their mailings by 3 p.m. for same-day processing at the Bulk Mail Entry Unit at the Morgan Facility on 9th Avenue and 29th St. The USPS also warned that trucks containing mail may be subject to search.

Bulk mailers wishing to avoid the traffic and searches can deposit bulk mail at facilities in Westchester, Brooklyn, Flushing or northern New Jersey, but must make prior arrangements, the USPS said. These mailings will not be subject to additional fees and will not lose discounts.
