USA Network, NFL Sign Multichannel Marketing Agreement

The National Football League and USA Network's Electronic Commerce & Services unit yesterday said they signed a three-year integrated multichannel commerce and marketing agreement.

As the NFL's exclusive television shopping network, the Home Shopping Network will develop an online and offline marketplace.

The deal includes live remote programming from NFL Ventures, integrated media support and local event promotional tie-ins scheduled around NFL games.

The USA Network unit's Short Shopping service will produce contextual commerce programs and specials for NFL programming and will develop a football fan database for use in e-commerce marketing activities.

This season, the Home Shopping Network will begin broadcasting a live one-hour show called "NFL Shop," preceding Monday Night Football. The show will feature exclusive, officially licensed merchandise and NFL player guest appearances.
