US mag circ still dropping

The latest magazine circulation figures are in from the Audit Bureau of Circulations and (shocker!) the results are not good. Total US magazine circulation fell 1.19% in the six months ending June 30.

There was also a big disconnect between total paid subscriptions, which went up 0.56%, and total single copy sales, which went down 12.36%.

The biggest losers in the top 25 consumer mags category were TV Guide, whose total paid and verified circulation went down 10.36%, and Playboy, whose went down 9.16%.

If you’re more of a silver lining person, the biggest gainers in paid and verified circ (over 100,000) are Global Traveler, which had a 48.29% gain, Off-Road Adventures, up 31.12% and Women’s Health, up 29.66%.
